Musoni Anthony is a young male upcoming artist going by his stage name Kool A. Born November 16 1987 , he currently resides in France where his carreer is seemingly to be taking off. Anthony is of Rwandan origins and if you are from Rwanda you have certainly heard of him because lately his new videos have been going viral on social networks. The first time i heard his song “Sun of a night” , I was immediately intrigued. The way  He used a unique acoustic style with a wide array of different techniques, approaches and textures reminiscent  of Erik Mongrain and mixing that with his subtle way of rapping. As if that wasn’t all he sang and the first person that came to my mind was Patrice Bart Williams. The whole mixture was genius to me.
Since I had fell for his music.. I wanted to know the person behind the scenes.
What inspired your works?
I started writting my own songs like 2 years ago when I bought my first guitare , I tried to play for a few days then gave up, my brain can’t transmit the right informations to my fingers , I can’t pull the right strings at the right time,I don’t know why.So I just left it on my room then my cousin/brother and my best friend started playing few melodies and thats how the words came out and how “sun of a night”was born , thats the first song I wrote ,and then came others.
Is there an artist you relate to?
I can’t relate myself to any other artist but I can tell you who’s on my ipod : musiq soulchild , saadiq , india arie , boys 2 men , marvin gaye , usher , jay z,drake , sam cook ,wayne .They probably inspired each of my lines but I don’t recognize myself in any of them.
What would you call your style?
I don’t know how to call this style of songs except that they are acoustic ,to me it doesn’t sound like soul , not even reggae but that’s what people tell me but I don’t really need to put a name on it, its just music
How do you feel when people interpret your artwork differently?
Its rare for me to hear any interpretation of my work , I live in France , they don’t speak or get a god damn word im saying so …they just feel the music.Thats why having you ,listening my music means much to me because you get what i say or not but you are able to give your interpretation and thats what im lookin for.
What’s the best thing about being an artist or What’s the worst thing about being an artist?
The best and worst thing about being an artist , but it is kind of hard to call myself an artist , this word sounds huge to me , it is to only count on yourself even if I make part of a team , the words I spit are mine , I say write about things I knew , I imagine , I wish , and writing ain’t that easy , first because my english is not sure and absolutly correct I just try to be me , and write what “me” means.
What message are you trying to spread across using your craft ?
Through the music I talk about all the things that hurt me , that count for me , sun of a night is about Rwanda , the tragedy we ‘ve been through , compose is about me and the days that i’m livin right now , i’m about to be 25 and i feel like each moves I make today is leading up to the man I am about to be.
Did you ever feel like giving up?
I cant’ give up ,I am just starting.
Symphony of my thoughts is his first EP , a short acoustic project , you have 5 songs on it , you can get it for free on the link below .

Uburanga Arts Studio

Uburanga is a Kinyarwanda word meaning beauty.

At Uburanga Arts Studio, it is the goal of the artists to build a sustainable future for Rwandan contemporary art while positively impacting Rwanda’s society and culture.

Bakunzi Jean Bosco was born on October 30th, 1985 in Kigali, Rwanda. Although he has been influenced by many visual artists, Bakunzi Jean Bosco is self-taught, creating art professionally since 2005. Bakunzi finds inspiration in the natural world, Rwandan culture, and his everyday surroundings. He has been motivated in his career by the belief that art has the power to heal people physically, mentally, and emotionally.

In March, 2010 Bakunzi founded Rwanda’s leading art center, Uburanga Arts Studio. This studio brings together the most skilled and talented artists from all over the country with the goal of developing Rwanda’s fine art scene.

Bakunzi, along with other artists from Uburanga Arts Studio, also donates his time to orphans and vulnerable children from different Kigali neighborhoods teaching arts and crafts. The goal of this project is to teach disadvantaged children marketable skills such as greeting card designing and creating and jewelry making. All proceeds from the children’s products help the children afford school fees, health care costs, and other living expenses.

In addition to the Uburanga Arts Studio neighborhood children’s project, Bakunzi uses his talent to teach arts and crafts to the children at Gisimba Memorial Center (GMC) orphanage. He also works and volunteers at Rwandan orphanages and hospitals, painting murals sponsored by both private individuals and NGOs.

Through these projects, Bakunzi Jean Bosco is able to help children deal with the traumas they have faced in their lives while also developing their skills and creativity so that they can look to a better future.

Uburanga Arts Studio is open to the public seven days a week from 9 am to 8 pm. We are located in Kigali in Kimihurura on Rugando Street, take the cobblestone behind Lemigo Hotel.

Minnie Julia Riperton (November 8, 1947 – July 12, 1979) was an American singer-songwriter best known for her vocal range of five-and-a-half octaves,

Her beauty and talent, always capture my mind. God be willing let this be my wedding song ;)
